A long cherished dream of Rt. Rev. Bishop Patrick Nair to have a mission station and a school at Tanda has come true. Bishop had asked the Priest in-charge of Azeemnagar Rev. Fr. Packiyanathan to find a suitable place for school, convent and Priest house.
He took lot of trouble and purchased four area of land and registered it in the name of school and diocese. This area consists of many villages around it.

Rt. Rev. Bishop Patrick Nair contacted the Superior General of Our Lady of Providence sisters and requested them to take the charge of the school. They had a community at Huthut. They began to visit the area regularly.
In the year 1999 Sr. Rekha with the help of Sr. Sushma started L.K.G and 1st classes in the temporary building. There were about 120 children in the both classes. In the beginning sisters were coming every day from Huthut and used to go back in the evening.

In the year 1999 Sr. Rekha was appointed as its first Principal and Fr. Packiyanathan as the manager. Meanwhile foundation was laid by Rt. Rev. Bishop Patrick Nair for the school building. Father had to come from Azeemnagar to supervise the school building work as no accommodation was available here. In the year 2000 month of April sisters started to stay here in the campus and started to give full time for the service of the children. On 19th of June 2000 the most remarkable day was dawned for St. Vianney School as the building was inaugurated and classes began for the little children.
It was the tireless effort and self-sacrifice of Fr. Packiyanathan and sisters which made the school grow rapidly.
